Rich and sweet with complex beefy taste, American Bison is a healthy alternative to its domesticated cousin, beef cattle. Both grass-fed and grain-fed bison have a leaner and more nutritious profile than standard beef, and both are available at Nicky USA.

Nicky Farms WATER BUFFALO

Water Buffalo, whose origins are from Asia and Africa, are scientifically speaking true buffalo, as opposed to American Bison. Our Nicky Farms water buffalo is raised in Clackamas, OR and is genetically pure water buffalo stock. 

The taste of the water buffalo meat is similar to beef but it is considered a healthier alternative because water buffalo meat contains less fat and cholesterol, and more protein than beef. Water buffalo fat is always white and the meat is always darker in color because of more pigmentation and/or less intramuscular fat. The rich tasting meat is very lean and care should be taken when preparing water buffalo so as not to over cook it. Filled with nutrients, especially B vitamins, water buffalo is unique and delicious alternative to beef or bison.
